The project exploits the convergence between cognitive sciences and ICTs to build innovative services
to provide deaf people with the access to broadcast communications, through the automatic translation of the written
Italian natural language into the animated Italian Sign Language (LIS).

- In 2006, appointed by the Senate of the University
of Cyprus to serve on the Selection Committee for two new
faculty positions in the area of Computer Engineering for the newly
developed Department
of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of
Cyprus.
- From 2007 to 2008, appointed by the Minister Prof. Luigi
Nicolais, member of the “Commissione interministeriale permanente per
